IIF in English is the international department of the Italian Institute of Photography and offers professional photography courses in English. The department recognizes the importance of both ‘global’ and ‘local’ and has developed its philosophy, programs and partnerships based on this dual concept.
INTENSIVE PROFESSIONAL COURSE
The Intensive Professional Photography Course (IPPC) prepares students to be effective visual communicators by providing comprehensive training of technical skills and theoretical knowledge through an intensive learning process over seven months. Through an optimal balance of theoretical and practical lessons in all the fundamental courses, including photographic technique, portrait, still life, fashion, landscape, post production and more, this comprehensive program provides students with the creative sensibility, personal style and critical vision necessary to translate the trends and values of today’s society into images.
What makes this course even more unique is its particular emphasis on Italian strengths like Fashion and Design. By engaging students in lessons and projects during some of the most internationally prestigious events that take place in Milan throughout the year such as Milan Fashion Week and the International Design Fair (Salone di Mobile) students have the opportunity to expand their cultural horizons and interact with innovative thinkers in a global context.

PHOTOGRAPHY & FASHION
When Photography Meets Fashion
This unique course brings together the key concepts of both photography and fashion to provide students with introductory knowledge and skills in fashion photography. Emphasizing both technical photography skills and fashion industry insight, this course gives the student a well rounded understanding of the business of fashion and the role of the fashion photographer within the industry. To provide the student a real 'insider' perspective, this course also includes interactions with established fashion photographers, fashion designers, fashion magazines and modeling agencies.

FASHION SHOW PHOTOGRAPHY - Shoot the Catwalk
This course takes place during the Milan Fashion Week (one in February and one in September) and provides students instruction on the key concepts of fashion, the elements of the fashion show, and the shooting and post production techniques for producing quality look-book and fashion show shots. Students also have the chance to attend and shoot fashion week shows. When: February and September 2011.
